Kawangware chaos invokes memories of 2008 violence.

Kawangware slum in the capital Nairobi has experienced violence and chaos that has just invoked the memories of 2008 post election violence which was deadly inter ethnic massacre where indigenous communities turned against one another.

In 2008, the estimated fatalities was 1300 people according to kenya human rights commission KHRC. Thousands were displaced from their homes and countless were left paralyzed.

Today's protests in kawangware, a slum turned chaotic as protesters vandalized and break into business of proprietors of people perceived to be in rivals camp. Property were destroyed and stolen.

This has just forced the infamous Nairobi business community to retaliate. These is where confrontation begins and many people will lose lives and the economy of the country will crumble.

As if kenya was in the process of recovering from deadly violence that is still fresh in the minds of majority of the population, the country yet again finds itself in quagmire and potential crisis.
