CS AMINA MOHAMMED SHOULD INTERVENE ON MOI UNIVERSITY ROT

Moi University should be included in 1000 ways of dying young in Kenya. The university has totally neglected the students in its main campus and has even gone a notch higher in its campuses which Odera Akango is one of them. The campus is in Gem sub-county in Siaya. The students idle around due to no lectures since beginning of semester. Last semester it was the same thing leading to students partaking only 3 exams at the end.is this acceptable really when students are in school in full time basis and moreover pay accommodation fees and school fees in totality?
The freshers who joined campus late last year with high expectations are now uncertain about their future academic life. The freshers of Odera Akango campus are now in main campus having hired a bus and together with their belongings travelled to Eldoret in Monday morning after a month long stay in school without lectures or way forward from the university. The first year students in the School of Education claims last semester they did just 3 exams out of 8. They were promised that the 5 they never did will be done in future. Now with the semester ticking closer to its end they haven’t been taught at all. Their colleagues in main campus are taught. The first year students have run out of patience and have declared that they will do everything in their power to fight for their rights and are ready for consequences.
The students have therefore stick to their guns that they will not set their foot back to Siaya and want to resume studies immediately in main campus without further delays by the administration. The administration is hesitant though and wants the students to report back to their campus.
The ministry of education, science and technology should intervene. The Cabinet Secretary in Charge CS Amina Mohammed should personally take the initiative since her predecessor Fred Matiangi tried countless times to shut Odera Akango campus citing low standards and lack of facilities as main cause but the university promised to upgrade in its part of routine lies. The students are going through unnecessary hard times with the university.
The students are clearly on the right path here having patiently waited for two semesters for changes to happen but nothing forthcoming. Cs Amina, the heads must roll in Moi University. This is not acceptable considering other universities are actively engaged in their academics while Odera Akango counterparts are languishing in unnecessary tussle with its administration.
